how exactly do i install cedega and point to play?


hi i am very new to linux. i have just installed fedora 3 and dont hav any experience with it. i am wondering exactly how to install cedega 4.3 and point2play. i hav a file called cedega_4.3_rpm.tar.gz but i dont know what to do with it. can anybody help? thanks in advance.

First, untar it with tar -zxvf cedega_4.3_rpm.tar.gz that should leave you with cedega_4.3.rpm. Then (as root, via su) run [b]rpm -Uvh cedega_4.3.rpm[b] and that should install it.

Check the rpm name though before running as I am taking a guess at the file name.

it worked perfectly

now just wondering, how would i uninstall it if i wanted to?

any help would be appreciated. thanks

should be able to goto install/remove pacages under yast..

i have fedora installed. sorry if i didnt make that clear. how would you do that in fedora?

# rpm -e package_name

(not the rpm name)

# rpm -qa will list all packages on the system if you're not sure about the name.
