Heroes of Newerth graphics problem

I've managed to install and run the game properly, it patched itself to 0.3. whatever and its very smooth until the picking phase. The graphic starts to slow down when people go ''ready'', and when the match starts i can see the gui and the heroes' circles underneath them, but everything else is completely black.

I'm running Ubuntu on a Lenovo G530 which runs an intel onboard graphics driver that did run HoN on windows 7.

There are no recommended hardware drivers for a GPU that seem to appear in selection list.
