Heads-up! Get Steam to refund Rocket League!
It seems that Epic Games have decided to stop Rocket League on Linux. I obtained a refund from Steam today and suggest anyone who bought rocket League do the same.
It would appear that Epic Games have a No Linux policy so I expect anything from them will drop Linux support. |
Dang, that's foolish, but probably will work out well for them for a while, which will most likely be enough bought time to move on to some other project.
Still, the fated year of the Linux desktop is growing ever closer (as well as hands reaching from the cold earth around its body), with Steam and Proton, Windows and it's weird hybridy thing now, etc. If I remember correctly then they've actually given Blender some epic grant thing or whatever, recently too. I don't understand this unless they have some EEE plan on the backburner, or similar. I can't think in their dimensions, but I'm also not very wealthy or prolific so, lol, there's that. Still, why distance oneself from Linux, I mean, it DOES have the capability to run proprietary binaries, after all, and GPU APIS are getting more and more unified, too. So strange to me. |
Hey, congratulations! Lots of people on /r/linux_gaming reporting that they're having trouble getting refunds.
