halo for linux?!?! wt-flippin-f, man! but you could try running it under wine. btw, i dont think there is, since halo is windoze...

Halo is a Microsoft game. Microsoft and Linux arent exactly best buddies.

but as i said, wine could be a solution. its not the best, though. i havent had a bit of luck w/ it.

maybe
Maybe eventually it will be supported. Halo relies heavily on DX and most likely alot of calls to DX9 which is the biggest problem with wine/winex. The less a given game relies on DX the easier it is for wine to run it. Although winex does a great job so far and will continue to better itself in the future. If its that big of a deal instead of monkeying around with wine/winex just install a small windows partition for gaming. Its what I used to do when I was more of a gamer.

Update - 2017
Microsoft has changed a lot in the last 14 years. Not enough for me to want to run Windows or regularly use Microsoft Office, but they've changed their attitude toward Linux and open source.
• Microsoft Azure runs Linux • Up-to-date versions of Skype are available for Linux • Microsoft Office for Windows supports ODT, with better support with each new version • Windows Subsystem for Linux, so you can have some Bash commands in Windows • Microsoft provides signed keys for some Linux distributions so they can still boot on Windows 10 PCs which have Secure Boot and can't turn off Secure Boot • Microsoft has its own open source group: Microsoft Enterprise Open Source Group • Microsoft SQL Server is available for Linux • Microsoft has its own Linux distribution • Microsoft released specs for Office formats • Visual Studio Code is available for Linux |
