Half-Life CD

How do I get Half-Life to see that the CD is in the CD-ROM ?? Because it looks for the cd-rom to start the game and then can't find it.

I don't understand the question. Which distribution are you using? If you are expecting it to autorun (and it's not a native Linux game) then it's not going to happen.

And how can Half-Life (which you seem to say is not running) look for it's cd?
