How the heck did you get it to work? Freaking.
The installation menu will pop up, However it'll already say it's installed. At first I thought it was detecting the instalation on my mounted windows partition, so I unmounted it and tried again, only to find the same results
I tried downloading the client from their site ( www.guildwars.com), and it went through the instalation, but when I ran Gw.exe (the main executable) the instalation screen comes up. There is an option to play the game from where it is, but it doesn't work. It then puts crap in the folder above it (in this case, the Program Files folder) and the instalation screen comes back up saying that it was detected in the above mentioned place.
In other words, it just doesn't like me.
A friend suggested I try it with winex. This brought good news. It installed, the menu looks cleaner, and I can click Run from current location and it doesn't put random unneeded files. However, all I get is a blank screen, and a cursor, which will sometimes turn into a hand (I can only guess that it's registering at least some of the buttons in the game) However, it still doesn't like me. |
