I love how this thread turned into console wars with everyone writing 1-page epics about how their system is the best that no one even bothers to read... hehe, reminds me of real forum now.

Sure XBox has online gaming (which I admit, is leaps and bounds above the PS2's online gaming area) but I personally prefer online gaming on the computer, and the machine itself, is powerful, take a look at games like Xenosaga Episode 1, Metal Gear Solid 2 (and soon 3 *drool*), Final Fantasy X, Star Ocean 3 and other games with absolutely beautiful visual effects. If someone needs to have frames dropping, the developer obviously doesn't know what they're doing. Twisted Metal Black flies at 60 FPS ALL the time, no matter how much stuff is on screen, and that was one of the earliest (if not launch) titles for the PS2. It just matters who made the game, not neccessarily what system its on.
Bloody well said my friend.
As and aside, i have never experienced frame dropping on my ps2, the only framedropping on a console i've experienced is time splitters two on game cube....
... if you just want to hop right into the game, then buy a console.
PS: on performance: as baldorg said, they use a C3. now, i dont know what cpu hes talking about (never heard of a C3), but celerons are pretty lousy, and anything worse wont stand up well.
but isn't a celeron inside of the xbox. and the xbox is a pretty nice machine. GTA3 isn't as nice as the PC version but its descent.
