Great news for PC Gamers
|
That's is something that I've been waiting for like... my entire child and adult life :p.
|
It uses a C3 cpu for god's sake! Those things are worst then Celerons...
|
oh yeah, that... IMHO, its never gonna work! i mean, the good thing about consoles is that they dont require alot of tweaking/installation or anything to get a game working. but, unlike a computer, they cant be upgraded! i mean, what will happen if someone tries to play doom3 on this thing? it could push it over the edge! and besides, if you want to play a pc game, just get a computer. if you dont want to install/tweak/look around to debug problems, if you just want to hop right into the game, then buy a console.
PS: on performance: as baldorg said, they use a C3. now, i dont know what cpu hes talking about (never heard of a C3), but celerons are pretty lousy, and anything worse wont stand up well. |

I don't see why anyone would want to play PC games on the TV.
Or any games, for that matter... |
hehe. well, some games, like metal gear solid, are worth straying from the pc for a little while. sometimes you need a break from the tweaking ;)
|
Never.
I usually enjoy the tweaking more then the game itself. |
Ah, yes. Tweaking. One of the many beauties of gaming.
|
well, now that i think about it, thats true. in fact, thats what made linux special. still, whats all that tweaking for if you dont have a pc game to benchmark it with? ;)

With exception of shooters, console gaming is way cooler then PC gaming. It won't lag, the games are locked to a certain fps to do not drop all the time(PS2 drops frames all the time, it's a stinky machine...). It's easy to set up, it's cheaper then an insane 1500 bucks upgrade/year. No install, no tweaking. A game is something you play and have fun with, not something you tweak and waste time installing, cracking, patching, connecting, or even worse, trying to get it to run with wine(x).
Still, depending on the shooter, it's better to play on consoles. I could not play Quake 3 or Unreal in a console. Those games are insanely fast and requires fast moves ratter then accuracy. However, games as Ghost Reckon, which runs at 30 fps are cooler on the consoles... Have you ever played Counter-Strike on the Xbox? Way better then the PC's.. period. No cheaters, no bugs, no huge patches. The only ones who dislike a console are the ones who plays only shooters and/or strategies or either don't own a console :p |
i dont know, it just feels special when i get a game running on my comp instead of my gamecube. i cant wait till they get gc linux as a serious desktop!
|
Bah, it doesn't have alot of ram and it doesn't have an HD and you can't burn CD's that it can read. It's going to be tough, long and un-powerful.
|
i know, but its one of those things that is just fun to fool around with. besides, you cant break anything ;)!
