GNU Chess play against crafty

hi

I'd like to start a chess game GNU Chess against crafty using xboard:
Code:
xboard -fcp gnuchess -scp crafty -tc 1
but don't know howto start this game and play automatically.

If you mean two bots play a game of chess try the xboard "-mg 1" switch. As in 'xboard -mg 1 -fcp /usr/local/bin/sjeng -scp /usr/local/bin/phalanx'.

thx a lot
Code:
# xboard -mg 1 -fcp sjeng -scp phalanx
works well, but
Code:

# xboard -mg 1 -fcp gnuchess -scp crafty
won't start (play) a game.
what's wrong?

What do you exactly mean "won't start"? Won't play? Given they both got their thinking caps on it might take a while before pieces move. Or won't show board display? Any errors?

That does not compute. Why would a reboot be necessary?..

Uh. OK. Note reinstalling SW or rebooting usually isn't necessary to fix something.
