Getting cannot find .exe when starting wine

Hi,

I am trying to get Call of Duty to run. I got it installed using the CoD installer, (linked elsewhere) game installed.. into home/mydir/cod. I tried using the installed shortcut.. game didn't start. I then started a terminal, cd `d into the cod directory & tried to start CoD "$ winex3 CoDSP.EXE it gores away & thinks about it, I then get this error

/usr/lib/transgaming_winex3//winex/bin/wine: cannot find 'CoDSP.exe'

if I do an ls.. yup its there...
Now I may (more probably have) done something wrong.. new at this linux lark.. only been at it 6 days.. (4 of which were spent trying too get gfx card to work). Anyone any ideas/suggestions as to what is wrong/what I can do to fix?

Tia

if no go, double-click it in a GUI browser and select open with winex3.
