I have added a link from my main page of my guide on how to install Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory for Linux.
You will need your video card drivers installed for this in advance.

I didn't even know this topic existed until this thread got moved.
not likely that anyone will see it there, but ah well, lol
Not an interesting move, its where this thread belongs first of all. And we have well over 2000 to 3000 views for all the different threads in this forum. It will get noticed.
The more organized the forums are, the easier it is for members searching to find. If we didn't think threads would get seen here, well then, we wouldn't have this forum.
Originally posted by DavidPhillips I run The windows version of RTCW on My Linux box
Any particular reason why you haven't run the native linux version? I have a copy of the RTCW linux executable if you would like it. At least, I think I have a copy.
I've installed RTCW thru winex3. Run way smooth, without those screen locks when Winslow needs to swap due my relatively limited amount of RAM. Where do you guys find native linux games to sell? I have ONLY seem Quake 3 Arena so far and it was in a official Linux Store in Sweden .
I usually start here just to read about games that work with Linux. Personally, I run native if it is available. If not, then I usually use Wine. Natively I am running RTCW, Q3, NWN and Vendetta Test, along with smaller stuff like Foobillard and armagetron. Through Wine I am running Jedi Outcast and Counter-strike. I also run SNEX9x Emulator so I can play all the old SNES games that I used to own. Next I plan on buying Devastation, and I hear tell that Doom3 is expected to have a linux client, although that might be unconfirmed. I haven't played U2003 yet.
Personally, The performance that I get natively is usually equal to if not greater than what I get in windoze. I have yet to have a game 'crash' on me in linux, even using wine.
