Gamepad in VisualBoy Advance

Hi all! I'm currently running Ubuntu "Breezy Badger" and I wanted to know if anybody out there knows how to make a gamepad work on VisualBoy Advance. I'm currently using a Gnome desktop.

Please help! Thanks.

Install qjoypad.
It lets you map gamepad button events to keypresses.

Can I find qjoypad in slackware 10.1 or vector packages. I have kvba and visualboyadvance installed, but cannot get the gamepad to work with the emulator? Any ideas? I run on KDE 3.4.2.

I am also currently running Vector soho 5.1.

I have visualboyadvance 1.7.1 running as do I have kvisualboyadvance and kvba installed. My gamepad works for supertux, but not for either of these emulators..

From kvba, I see the options to configure joypad, but it does nothing. It does not recognize my gamepad. How do I get my gamepad {saitek p880} working with the visualboyadvance, kvba or kvisualboyadvance emulator....?
