Angry Game mouse focus problems

I'm having this very annoying problem. Whenever I start a fullscreen game, the video is fine, but the mouse input sometimes doesn't register, and I notice the mouse moves the virtual desktop, as in off the fullscreen. I've tried enabling mouse grabbing (it happens with all fullscreen or windowed games), but that seems to setup some kind of invisible barrier at the bottom and the right, and I can't get to that area of the screen. Any ideas? I'm using a dual-headed display with FVWM 2.5.10.
