Fun Games for an old laptop.
Hey everyone I was wondering for some advice about gaming.
I've just installed Debian on an Dell Inspiron 3800 and I'm wondering if anyone has any sugestions for some fun games I could put on it. It's obviously an older laptop so it won't run anything to fancy. It's got a 600 mhz Intel Celeron processor an 8 MB ATI Rage Mobility card and I think 32 MB of Ram. I was also thinking of putting on a Super Nintendo emulator and was wondering which is the best one for linux. Thank you, |

Depends what kind of games you like. A 600MHz Celeron should be sufficient even for Quake 3, though you'd probably want some more memory.
Frozen-bubble, as macemoneta suggested, is good fun (otherwise know as bust-a-move on consoles). Have a look at www.linuxgames.com, www.liberatedgames.com and search for games on www.sourceforge.net. google will probably turn a few up too. If you like the old point-and-click adventures (like monkey-island), liberatedgames has a link to the classic Beaneath A Still Sky, released as freeware a while back by the developers, Revolution Software (www.revolution.co.uk). This is an extremely funny game. You need scummvm, which you can get from www.scummvm.org. |
I think your laptop could handle wesnoth, if you like strategy games, it's very addicting.
