Question Fallout 2 problem

Hi I'm trying to get Fallout 2 to work but I got a big problem. When I try to run it I get the following errormessage:
Code:
$ wine fallout2.exe
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x33f1a4,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_desktop_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to 8
fixme:dinput:SysMouseAImpl_Acquire Clipping cursor to (0,0)-(640,480)
fixme:winmm:MMDRV_Exit Closing while ll-driver open
When I try to start it, it just comes to the intropicture with the guy in the gasmask and then it dies and I get the wine error.

I got a asus eee 701sd with debian 5.0 and wine-1.0.1-174-gc4039bd
I used this guided when I configured wine: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/Fallout_..._performance/1

Can anyone help me?
thanks

Make sure that in xorg.conf you have something like:

Code:
Section "Screen"

    Subsection "Display"
        Depth 8
        Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
    EndSubsection
    Subsection "Display"
        Depth 16
        Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
    EndSubsection
    Subsection "Display"
        Depth 24
        Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
    EndSubsection
    Subsection "Display"
        Depth 32
        Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
    EndSubsection

EndSection
Note the Depth settings, you must have one for 8 bpp.

Hi and thanks for the reply. I changed my xorg.conf file as you described but I still got the same old problem when I try to run the game

Well, then I'm not sure.

Either way this
Code:
fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_desktop_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to 8
is saying that it fails to change the bpp setting from 32 bpp to 8 bpp, possible because xorg.conf is not setup properly.

I would try a newer wine version:
