Enemy Territory console Locks up in Linux

I am running Wolfenstein Enemy Territory 1.02 (latest patch) and when I use ~ to open the console so I can bind things, the console just locks up. The game continues in the background but I can't close the console nor can I type in it. Is there something wrong with it? I've installed the game 11 times now and patched it 11 times, but it's still doing the same thing.

Mandrake 9.2
nVidia GeForce FX5200
512MB PC2700 DDR
60GB Western Digital
AMD Athlon 2000 XP+
MSI I don't remember which model the 6390 or 6930

Wow, never heard about that....anyway, you can bind using the config file located in your home ~.etwolf/etmain/profiles/YourProflileName/etconfig.cfg

Hope it helps

I have no idea what could be causing this. I mean, Mandrake's pretty bad but I don't think it's Mandrake's fault. lol

You can fix this if you set r_fullscreen 1 in your config. Its weird w/ the linux version unless you have r_fullscreen set definitely it will lose focus when you hit the tilde key. To fix....

r_fullscreen 1
set r_fullscreen 1
seta r_fullscreen 1

You can make this a bind are apart of your config. I put it in the augments for the game run command

et +r_fullscreen 1+set r_fullscreen 1+seta r_fullscreen 1+connect 69.56.200.130

Weirdly you need to include all 3 sets to be safe but you can put in any IP

I am having the same issue, Fedora Core 5, Xorg, ET 2.6, Nvidia 8166 ( from May 2006 ) I believe. I bring down the console and the game window loses focus and I cannot get it back. I can see the game, but the entire display will scroll as if the resolutions do not match, even though they do ( Xorg and ET are both at 1280x1024 ) . Any more ideas?
