Dota 2 prize money.

I read recently that there is 20 million dollars up for grabs in the Dota 2 International competition. I think I played Dota 2 maybe once. It's not my kind of game. But wow that's a lot of cash. I guess the in-game purchases must make the business model work and the prize money just makes it worthwhile to get good at this game. Anyone here played this competitively?

I guess I am not actually up to date on recent events. People play Dota for a living. And with that much cash I can see why it's a viable career. Especially in a place where the economy is slow. This game gets many updates, sometimes more than one a day

No doubt hacking attempts are constant.
