doom3 auto save game files????

can anyone point me in the direction to get these
i was in Hell, but my harddrive crashed and im trying to recover my progress

try cd ~/.doom3 There should be directories in there, one of which will be savegames

i had to reinstall everything
im trying to find a link to download saved games
