hello Rose_love,

to create a desktop icon, right-click on your desktop. choose "new" from the context-menu, then "file" --> link/shortcut to program (i use german language on my pc, so its something like this). now you have to fill in the /path/to/program-binary, i.e./usr/bin/"program". thats it. if you want to, you can now change the icon itself by right-clicking on the icon and choose another one. thats how it works in kde, but i think, its similar in gnome.

bye, robattack
