Creating more space for Steam

I have Steam running in my home directory (.wine\drive_c\...etc., etc.).

I do not have enough space to install pretty much anything on my home directory. Only 3 G left.

I would like to place my Steam directory in my /usr/local/games directory where I have roughly 40 G of space.

I copied the steamapps folder to /usr/local/games and created a symlink from the Steam folder in my .wine directory to the folder in /usr/local/games.

Steam still reports not enough space to install anything over 3 G. Can anyone suggest how I could change this? Deleting stuff off my home directory isn't possible right now.

I'm running Debian Sid with the 2.6.27 kernel, AMD64.

Take a look at winecfg. There should be an option to map c drive to other place.

After some messing around, I was able to use winecfg to re-assign the 'c drive' to a much larger partition on my disk drive.

Thanks for the quick help on that.
