Counter-strike source : Texture problems
Hey,
This is my first post here so hello everyone! I'm running Debian Sarge with kernel 2.6.8 and I've got an ASUS 9800XT videocard. I've been able to install the ATI drivers using this explanation : xoomer.virgilio.it/flavio.stanchina/debian/fglrx-installer (can't post real url at this time) Counter-strike 1.6 works without a single problem. But when I run Counter-stike source everything works , gameplay is smooth, sound is ok BUT I have problems with blinking / flickering textures of walls, items etc... Almost constantly certain textures blink from normal to green or white (sometimes even black). I've tried using different resolutions + graphical settings (filtering, reflection etc...) without success. Yet I do remember trying a certain level without any graphical problems (piranisi ???) I don't know if anyone can help me out on this... I've already tried searching for sollutions for a while. Thanks already for your time. |
Hello noobje,
If you have figured out the solution to your problem, kindly let me know.. as I am also having a somewhat similar problem Thanks Tariq Zafar Iqbal |
Unfortunally I didn't find a solution. Although at times (with different settings in CS) it worked nearly flawless.
Lately I didn't have the time to experiment some more. Anyway If I should find something or if you find something let us know :) grtz |
sure sounds like ATI's drivers are to blame (well, inasmuch as we're expecting windows software to emulate properly in 3d on ATI equipment). Your statement that with certain settings yielded better results -- that's important as it will help a ton o' people out there. Do you recall the settings you used (including resolution) or rather did not use?

Hey,
I don't recall the settings (sorry) I just played around with all kinds of combinations. Especially the more special features like AA etc... Certain combo's yielded better results. grtz |
