Counter Strike CZ under Linux - Wine

hello:

I'm trying to run Counter Strike CZ through Wine, it does load the welcome screen, however, I get the following message:

Code:

this application is requesting an activeX browser object
but the mozilla active X control is currently not installed
do you wish to download and install it?

I click on OK to download what it ask, but the app freezes and exists. I've learned there's a key to be inserted in some "registry" but I dunno what it means... any ideas?

Thanks

Poeta

I am sure Internet Explorer installation on WINE will help you.
This tool will help you to download and install IE6 on WINE:

I run HL/CS/CZ and HL2 perfectly on Barton2500/RAM256. Even better than Win2k because I can remove a lot of stuff from memory like KDE (unlike of windoze).

thaks a lot for your aswer
I've managed to start CZ however I can't see any String like
"Start multiplayer Server"
"options"

and so on..... maybe it's got to do with the video manager:

OpenGL
Software
D3D

which one should I pick?

I'm curious........ how can I unload X and the re-start it? (newbie)

Thanks!

OpenGL and Software are your best choices.

Also, look here for the unofficial Transgaming Wiki,... Some of the solutions might be applicable to a straight attempt to run it in Wine.

I have chose software and now it freezes at the start screen, so I can not change it to open GL............ is there a file where I can change it manually?

To restart X immediately press CTRL+ALT+BackSpace.

You software selection can be stored in two places: registry files (~/.transgaming/???) or *.cfg files in game directory.

thanks a lot............ but I meant how can I like, go to command line without X?

I have checked the "Automatically start X at logon" should I un check it? is there a wat to just shut down X?

Thanks :)
