compiling glut? (need help with libMesa)

I'm having trouble compiling glut3.7 (I need glut in order to compile flightgear sources)
I apparently need and and have tried downloading various files (including source and binary files) that i thought would solve this, but the source files only supplied me with libMesaGL.a and libMesaGLU.a files

Can anyone tell me what exactly to download, to solve this dependancy, as i have a slow internet connection and downloading the wrong files is frustrating to say the least.

try going to
go to the ftp area, and download the libglu/ glut rpms. that works for me (but i use mandrake). it might work for you, even though you use redhat 8.
