Capturing game (full)screen on linux

I am looking for a piece of software on linux that can capture my fullscreen gaming sessions to my harddrive (as mpeg, avi, whatever). For instance to record some cool instance on World of Warcraft, edit it with one of the great video editing software that is out there on linux and release it to the general public (or should I say 'unleash' ).
Examples of what I mean can be found at http://warcraftmovies.com/

I know there is software to pull this off under windows, and I am wondering if it can be done under linux. I've looked at Xvidcap, but I am unsure if it will be able to capture full-screen apps (like WoW under Cedega).

I don't know the answer, but have you tried looking here?
http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-l...table.shtml#43

It has Linux equivalents for Windows programs.

There is a project on SF
http://taksi.sourceforge.net/

But AFAIK it runs only on win32 You can try it under wine, but possibility is low.
