I think I found the version you need. Just go here http://newrpms.sunsite.dk/apt/redhat.../RPMS.newrpms/
keep going down until you see wine-0.20040914-1.rhfc2.nr.i386.rpm

Download that and tell me if it works.

Good Luck.

Dang. Well you can try going here ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/ALPHA/wine/development/ and grabbing Wine-20041019.tar.gz or Wine-20041201.tar.gz

Btw, do you remember having to install wine on FC2 or was it already there? I can't seem to find any record of FC2 including wine.

I downloaded the tar but where do I have to extract it or what do I have to do if it's extracted?

I had to download wine (in rpm I think) and install it cuz it wasn't included in the FC2 instalation.

Just extract it in your home folder and then read the Install file. You just have to do
1 ./configure
2 make and then
3 make install.

To uninstall you type make uninstall in the terminal.

Since you don't know which version of wine you had we definitely know that its a 2004 build. And I think there is a chance that one of these two might be it.

Good Luck

It it was a problem with a new version, report it to wine. I've honestly never used wine (I hate ati and their horrible driver...), but reading about it they want input like that.

make can take a short amount of and in certain cases many hours. In short nothing is wrong. You should let that continue.

Good Luck!

come to think of it I saw this:
' Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0" '
and that is the same problem when I do:
Code:
$ glxgears
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
glxgears: Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual.
$
I think maby if I download and install a new NVIDIA-driver it might work...
I'll let you know something if it worked

cya
