bonuspacks ut2003

Hi there,

i installed the epic and digital extremes bonuspack for ut2003 with the *.bin scripts, but i cannot make out any differences!
ut version 2136

Can anybody tell me where i should notice the differences?

DE pack is new maps (e.g. DM-DE-Grendelkeep)
Epic pack is new maps and new game types (e.g. Mutant)

Your problem is most likely that you're still using 2136...You must upgrade before the bonus packs will work.

Thanx for your reply mikshaw!!!

I guessed that this is the problem, i once read somewhere that epic bonus pack works only with patch 2225.
I could update from 2107 to 2136, i just copied the 2107to2136 tarball into the install dir and it did update. the bin scripts like "ut2003lnx_full2166.sh.bin" don't work with me.
this is what i get when i try to install:

Would you like to apply this update? [Y/n]: Y

=============================================================
Performing update:
ERROR: No matching delta for /home/cs/ut2003/Web/ServerAdmin/admins_menu.htm
The program returned an error code (3)

...and this is why i can't update any further as to 2136!

Do u know some help?

I'm not sure. I had no trouble with the ut2003lnx_full* updates, but I DID have trouble with the tarballs.
Maybe you'd need to try starting over with a fresh install and ut2003lnx_full2126.sh.bin, unless you can find tarballs for all of the updates. The only patches I have are the ones at the above link, and I had to install them all sequentially.

Alright, I just updated to 2225 by copying every single file from the extracted tarball to the install dir
...as root!...didn't think it is that easy.

But I still try a fresh install, thanx a lot mikshaw!!!

You're from Maine? I once lived in Virginia, Reston, VA. U know that?

That easy? All you have to type is "cp -af /extracted/files/* /usr/local/games/ut2003"

Is that hard?

Well Nerd,

I have been waiting for your answer! The solution to all my problems...
u must be collecting the posts, hah?
So w. t. f. are you intervening here with a post that doesn't really say anything?

@mikshaw:

A clean install did help...!
I could update from 2107 to 2225 with the ut2003lnx_2107to2225.sh.bin without any errors. The bonus packs installed clean also, but where are the new maps and game types? I see new maps in instant-action-mode but with single-player I don't. Do I have to win every level first to see the new stuff?

thanx,
salbox

The bonus packs don't install themselfs, you have to copy things around as superuser. Example:

unzip bunus_pack.zip
cd bonus_pack/
cp -af * /usr/local/games/ut2003

You have to do this for all the bonus packs.

I am afraid I don't know what you mean salbox.

Single-player is a set sequence of maps, which I assume uses only what is available in the original package.
The added content is avilable for Instant Action and Multi-player.
