Argh! WoW and Cedega

cvscedega to be exact.

When I try to start the game, I'm greeted with a "Unable to start up 3d" message. I've tried removing and recreating the WTF, supplying the -opengl cmdline argument, and upgrading, downgrading, and reinstalling everything. Nothing works.

I also tried StarCraft, which seemed just slow and buggy (it would crash randomly). And Max Payne 2 wouldn't even let me install. It gives me vague errors for basically every game, except NWN (yes, I am aware of its native client) and Unreal Tournament.

Cedega is cool, but it doesn't work well. I don't know if I misconfigured something or I'm just expecting too much from an emulator.

Im also waiting for a reply on the SuSE forum in regards to Cegega and WoW with the latest 1.6 patch. Havent seen anything yet. You'd think it would work flawlessly with Cedega having a banner add for WoW on the product page. Wait n see I guess.

You'd think so.

I've been playing StarCraft, but it won't let me update due to some winsock error. I guess I'll have to update manually.

ahhh,,,the sullen cry of people who want software for free.

Subscribe to Cedega, download the latest P2P, get the latest winex and try again. If that doesn't work then raise a support query with them on their forum (dedicated to paid up subscribers).

Well the forums are rather hidden and there are a great deal more people on LQ than on the Transgaming.org forums, so perhaps they are paid subscribers but posted here because they would get more/faster responses.

king111 :
Can you post the output of glxinfo?

mipia :
There were some problems with WoW under Cedega and SuSE; not sure if those have been resolved. Your best bet is to check the Transgaming WoW forums at : http://transgaming.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=51

Bet they're not. King even admits to cvscedega in his post.

There is a forum link right from your transgamer subscriber login page.

WoW is supported under latest cedega & P2P as advertised on Transgaming site. (LOL)

You need an Nvidia card and the 7667 driver but that is about the limit of the must-haves.
