Even though Tuxracer is kinda funny and somewhat entertaining racing game I was wondering if there is anything else avalable for Linux? If somebody knows a good one, please post your link!
Thanks guys, I've checked them and I'm currently doing some serious downloading. BTW Racer offers binaries only for Nvidia cards. Does this mean it'll work with ATI radeon at all?
It's proprietary, but "Ballistics" should be out some time (although expected release date was supposed to be November 15, 2003). I tried out the demo on a Win box, and it was friggin' awesome. I'm looking forward to LGP finishing the port (in the mean time, I'm addicted to ET).
Racer is pretty nice, especially in the graphics departement. Except it's proprieteray, shitty, has no options, has shitty controls, only 1 map and one car, no source tarball available, and their website is impossible to navigate trough because I don't understand anything. Am I missing something here?
Distribution: Gentoo 2004.2: Who needs exmmpkg when you have emerge?

Rep:
1. its kinda has to be proprieteray, since non-opensource things are being integrated into it. its still free, and the src is still available.
2. it did warn you it didnt sacrifice realism in interest of fun.
3. you can change the controls by editing a config file. it has support for a number of joysticks and wheels.
4. you can download TONS of more cars & tracks at http://racer-xtreme.com .
5. there is a src tarball available, right at their website.
just wanted to point all that out :2cents: (im not sure how to get that 2 cents image )
