any good linux games?

something simple would be best as i've only got dialup :)
but are there any good games out there floating around.
i'd prefer strategy, but RPG or a bit of action is fine! :)

He said he uses dial-up. I don't think he's going to download a 260 MB file on his modem.

Any word on whether or not HL2 will be ported to Linux?

uglydot 10-16-2003 04:20 PM

It won't be any time remotly soon.

shycalais 10-17-2003 03:31 AM

didn't the source get leaked?? someone on here was playing with it and had it compiling in *nix. just need to reroute directx modules i think he was saying... will be very interesting if it gets released before HL2 winblows version :)

uglydot 10-17-2003 05:23 AM

My question is, will network compatability be achieved...

drxsmurf 10-17-2003 11:22 AM

Probably Valve is going to make a server port for HL2 and neglect to make a client, just like they have done with every other Valve product before. So the Linux community, which is a hungry market and full of very potential customers, will remain an untapped resource for Valve.
