Andre Wertmann Heretic X11 port problem

Since Heretic is one of the few id games wich I have a full version copy I decided to see how I could get it running on Linux. PrBoom only seems to load up Doom II and FreeDoom so I gave up with it. Then I found this website http://heretic.linuxgames.com/ and downloaded the X11 RPM. See what happens when I try to load it?

[root@localhost ~]# /usr/games/xheretic

== HERETIC v1.0.4 ==

== works on ==
== x86, m68k, Alpha and Netwinder-systems ==
== under Linux, FreeBSD, SCO-Unix (tested) ==

== Heretic was ported to LINUX by Andre Werthmann ==

== You can download the latest versions under: ==

I never had any luck with that Heretic port. I've been using the Doomsday Engine (a.k.a. deng) project, which works nicely with Doom, Doom2, Heretic and Hexen.

I have used Doomsday on Windows, but I only know how to install programs with RPM Packages (.rpm), Packages (.package), and Shell Scripts (.run).

Yes, but I test programs just after I install them. If you dont know where the RPM or any linux install came from, you dont have any gurrsnte it installed correct.
