You will need to read through the Alienbob blog pages to get it installed on Slackware.

Most packages and Slackbuild scripts can be found below.

The best way to do the install is to just install the steamclient, run it from xterm or similar, it will probably fail. Use ldd to query the steamclient, work out what its missing and install both the 64bit and 32bit versions of those files. So for example if its missing say libGLX.so.0 you need both the i386 and x86_64. Do that for everything. Also you need curl:i386 installed, but as I remember it never tells you that. Getting Steam to run on Slackware might take you a couple of hours. it wasn't an instant thing for me, nor a particularly painless install, but it did work in the end, but its definitely not something i would suggest a new user tries. If you have some experience and can happily install packages using Slackbuild and debug from console, you should be fine.
Other issues you might run into can include system libraries vs steam static libraries. If you find a game that wont start then try symlinking the static libraries that steam downloads to the root directory of whatever game wont run. I had that issue with Dying light and Alien isolation.
For Among Us you will need Steam Play and maybe need to set it to allow uncertified games to use Steam Play.
Beyond that their are loads of native Linux games on Steam, of which many of them are mainstream games like Civilisation and Tombraider. My favourites include Dying Light, Pillars of Eternity and War for the Overworld.
