Americas Army (game) Not working

I installed americas Army game files (A multi player i net game) and it installed ok but now it won't run. I tried using the icon and then Run Aplication but no deal.

I am using Mandrake 10.0 on an ASUS Mobo with AMD DDr etc.

Am I missing some Dependencies or is it something else?

When I loaded 10 I instructed it to load for Games and internet so I did not have to go running around trying to disasemble this product (that I have no idea about).

Newbie...

Try running the game from a command line, this will tell you the errors it's finding.

you've got accelerated graphics drivers loaded right?

I'm betting the chances are you don't have the OpenGL drivers loaded or are running MESA3d drivers, which don't perform all that well for games. A way to check it is to run the "Tuxracer" game or even type in "glxgears" at the console. Check the performance of either. They should run smooth with no choppyness or hesitations.
Even if you select to load games during the install process, the system only installs the MESA3D drivers, which aren't bad, but can't handle the intensivness of gaming. Find out the maunfacturer of your video card, go to their website and download the Linux drivers for your chipset. I've got ATI's for my 9100 Radeon and it works wonderfully! I get better game performance than I used to with Windows!
Hope this helps!

Thanx for the reply

I have downloaded the file but I can't open it (it wants to run as root or something) But I have administrative password/power and I can't even open this thing from logon. (ok on reboot just not logout) Something may be wrong here as I am trying to log in as root but PC doesn't recognise my password???

It does if I need to run installs from usr/ Desktop....................? In any case I know whats been posted will go along way to me getting in there( www.americasarmy.com) and ripping it up with an M4 and a few frag grenades...........Cheers!
