AMD64 & cedega - which arch/kernel/distro?
On an AMD64 system, which distribution/kernel/architechture combination would you recommend to use as a gaming platform?
I have an 3500+ in my home machine. Except for some minor annoyances, Windows games perform *much* better on Linux/Cedega than they do in Windows on this hardware. I have encountered the 2.6.10+ kernel issues that cause problems with Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, and others. So I installed Debian 3.1 (32-bit) and kept the stock 2.6.8 image. I like Debian a lot, and the games run pretty well. However, I do have some unrelated issues with Debian that are making me look for another option to try.
I know Fedora (64-bit) has the linux32 command. Is that practical for what I'm trying to do?
Mildly off-topic- Has anyone had success running FreeBSD/Freesbie/PCBSD (32 bit) on a gaming box?
