Age of Empires II and Slackware
 

Just finished getting Age of Empires II and the add-on installed and running on my Slackware box. I am impressed at how well it runs!! This is my most favorite game ever!! (Odd for a 43 yr old man to say)

It's a resource hog, look at my Karamba theme to see for yourself.

If anyone is interested on how to get it up and running, I'll post directions tomorrow.

It's resource hog because the API functions it uses have not yet been fully implemented in wine, therefore only hacks and shortcuts are present causing unnecessary performance overhead. It will be fixed when the wine devs implement the functions it needs.

AEII Is probably my favorite PC game as well, I tried ten ways from Sunday to get it to work, but it just never ran very smoothly. But then, my PC is like six years old (mid-level P4) so I didn't expect much.

BTW: That Karamba theme is all kinds of awesome!
