My only problem to switch totally to linux is this game...age of empires + expansion the conquerors.
I installed wine and winesetuptk that configured it automatically.
I tryied some windows programs and they work, only age of empires won't work.
There are 2 files,
one is age of empires 2 and I get this error when I launch it: Could not initialize graaphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw.
the second file is the age of empires expansion set [the conquerors] and this file gives me this error: Could not initialize program. Age of Empires II not detected.
But I have it, and I can play it under Windows.
What can I do? WineX should be a solution I think, 'cause I saw a screenshot with age eunning on it, but I couldn't find a page to download it for free.
Please have a look at the Wine Application Database for information how to get the game running. We can not recommend to use a crack for legal reasons. of course, and asking for that is against the forums rules.
