A new Linux project

I have an idea in the works for a game for Linux. It will be a mission-based FPS with all the Linux crew (Tux, Konqui, FreeBSD Daemon, etc. You pick who you play as before each level, and each guy has diferent characteristics that each level is more suited toward.) going after Bill Gates for one reason or another (yet to decide why). I have also thought of several foes in the game, the toughest will be called the Lyx, and it will be like a genetically altered cat that will kill the toughest member of the Linux crew within 5 seconds (I actually thought of this creature in a dream, if that means anything. It almost killed me. ) I also have an idea of several guns I want to use. Naturally, I will need some code monkeys (I'm not good at coding yet), game modelers (I actually know nothing about game design), etc. I, naturally, can handle a lot of the documentation and stuff, as well as some of the code later on as I practice up on my programming.

I do want suggestions relating to the game (anything about it). Questions and comments can go here or to one of my two mails: LECTRAPLAYER@NETSCAPE.NET and DOOMPLAYER@NETZERO.NET .

No offence intended by this... but this reminds me sooo much of my MUDding days.. that I just have to say something. Please don't take offence..

What would your role in this be? Organiser? telling people what to do and.. well.. obeserving?
Generally people refuse to do this. They'd rather help out somewhere with people who know what's happening. Sorry to burst the bubble... but.. I'd be very suprised.. actually. I'd be shocked if anything came of this. My tip.. learn programming. Start the project, and when it's kind-of-decent show people. Then people will come and join in.
Anyone can do the documentation. I can get a bash script to write half of it just from the code.

Sorry if it seems overly harsh, but people have this idea in their heads. "I'll come up with something that I think is cool.. I have no skills, but that ok. The community will build the game, and I can just oversee".
That never happens.

I am trying to sharpen my C++ and migrate to Linux. This will take a looooooooong time for just me to make. I will be coding as well. I will do a lot of the documentation for the game as well.

Also, like I said, I, right now, can only make konsole programs. I know nothing about more advanced stuff like hardware access and game design, but I'll cross that road when I get there.
