3D acceleration kills mouse

I'v had a problem with my mouse recently. whenever im in a game for a few muinites my mouse will freeze, the only way to get it to work again is to ctrl+alt+backspace and restart xwindows.

it doesnt ALWAYS hapen in 3D, but 90% of the time, if this hapens, its cause Im playing a 3d game.

I have xfree 4.3.0 with the newest Radeon 3d drivers on slackware 9.1 (2.4.22 kernel)

well, I used my moms old mouse and it works flawlessly, exactly the same as mine, only she replaced hers with a wireless one. So im inclined to believe that it was a problem with the mouse.

but now im happy, cause that mouse has a nice long USB cord on it, that can be used to modify the palm pilot cradle I aquired today so that I can plug it into one of those disposable digital cameras and have myselfe a webcam.
just google 'dakota digital camera usb'
