[WoW] We need the community to raise!
As you can see, WoW is still not ported to Linux... Blizzard is kinda deaf about everything around the Linux plateform, you can still show your opinion so that maybe they'll change their point of view for Linux!
WoW-Petition
Here are some arguments: - There is a Mac OS X port, so it's easier to make a Linux port.
- An Blizzard engineer is the creator of the SDL library and so the creator of Loki Games.
- An engineer from Quake and Doom would be part of the Blizzard team.
- A Blizzard employee said that the WoW servers was working on Linux!
- WoW would be the ultimate way of introducing Linux as a game plateform.
- There is already 10 000 signatures, we need 10 000 others and it's really easy to get these if everyone concerned by this petition would sign it !
Tell to your friends, even if they are under Windows or MacOS X, this subject is not only for Linux users, because it exists some users that are just waiting for games in order to go to Linux! If we get this port form Blizzard it's sure that there would be a lot more games on our prefered OS!

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Blizzard is one company that has historically been hostile towards Linux. They may very well run the infrastructure of their game servers on Linux, but we apparently don't rate as far as they are concerned.
They would probably say that since in works passably in Cedega, that they aren't going to bother...

Blizzard is like any other company! Where they can grab money, they fund money! Plus Cedega is *not* the solution... It's a project that help linux gamers to play a little more because company like Blizzard think "there not enough market"! Come on! Even if Blizzard doesn't port WoW, the act of signing the petition will show them that we exist. And if everyone thinks "oh, it's ok, it works on cedega", then i understand why Blizzard don't want to port to Linux! I want Linux to be also a gaming operating system! And i truely think it's not a pie in the sky.

10395 signatures, keep going
the administrator of the blizzpub site will check the last unchecked signatures (almost 2300) and then bring them to Blizzard. So keep signing, the more there is, the more we'll be serious from the eyes of the editors i think...

This is not true. Mac OS X engine is based on BSD, but it is still different.
Even if Blizzard developers read the petition, they will be scratching their head on this question "What platform should we support if we do port our game to Linux". Of course they should support the x86 platform for the Linux version because it is the majority machine that people use on a day by day basis. IMO, Blizzard should start porting the old games first and then eventually port RPG games like WoW to Linux.
BTW, I'm not going to sign the petition because it is narrow minded on the game title.

MacOS X is more linux than windows... There isn't any DirectX stuff in MacOS X (just that!)... And I don't think they use 150 000 Windows functions!? So the other functions are Linux compliant, except for... lets say... 100 functions... It's already big, but it's doable in at least 2 months!
So after a 10 years programmation game, they could spend 2 months to make a:
#ifdef LINUX
...
#elif defined WINDOWS
...
#endif
Ok, here it's really simplify, but the idea is here

Signed... also posted this a month ago in the www.Transgaming.org/forums so Cedega users could just get the game converted.
Keep it going!
