X-window basic is possible?

To install the X Window necessary:

1. Xorg Protocol Headers: 21 MB
2. Xorg Libraries : 327 MB
3. Xorg Applications : 39 MB
4. Xorg Fonts : 278 MB

Is posible install only basic packages for each one?

Could you be a bit more specific?

Do you want to install only the 4 above mentioned packages? If that is the case: You also need all the dependencies mentioned, which means that most (if not all) the other mentioned packages also need to be installed.

If you are talking about the individual packages mentioned in each chapter you mention: I do believe you need all of them. The only exception being the Font package (have a look at the user notes).

When I first tried building LFS I decided to install a minimum xorg as I am an experienced programmer/linux user - WRONG ! - I had all sorts of problems so I installed as per the book and things went fine, I would strongly suggest you go 'By the book' at least for the first time or you WILL cause yourself unnecessary headaches.

I want to install "OpenBox" and if necessary install all packages of:

1. Xorg Protocol Headers : All their packages?
2. Xorg Libraries : all their packages?
3. Xorg Applications : all their packages?
4. Xorg Fonts : all their packages?

Or how to install minimal X window for OpenBox..? Sorry for the insistence.

One of openbox's required dependencies is: X Window System.

Just follow the book and install all these dependencies.
