wiki.linuxfromscratch.org ?
Does the wiki.linuxfromscratch.org still exist?
I have tried to access it several times during the last week without success. Jeff |
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/support.html is a list of the LFS support options - no mention of a wiki. And both Google and Google.com/linux come up a blank when I searched.
What makes you think one exists? |
I first installed LFS several months ago using a hard copy of the text. At that time, there was a wiki that listed problems and their solutions by chapter and section.
A search of this forum also mentions it several times. I guess it is no longer available. It was a very good resource. I have tried a couple of wikis on my sites. They are very difficult to keep clean since any one that happens along can modify the pages. They require constant attention. Thanks, Jeff |
You could always add to the LQ Wiki - that's a resource that's crying out for information.

The Linuxquestions wiki are quite nice but very very broad.
I believe a true LFS wiki would be better, I myself often wanted to be able to add something to existing official Documention, especially problems + how I solved them (or, in some situations, have not solved them). Ok this is probably the wrong place to ask this, but maybe even LFS devs read here and can say about the look and feel of a LFS wiki in the future |
The joy of a wiki is that you can add to it and change it. If you want a more focused LfS portion to the wiki, edit the existing pages and put in links to the pages you want to see. Then create the pages.
What's wrong with using the LfS area of the LQ Wiki as the LfS Wiki? |

Hi cuij,
Yes, the LFS hints are very good but they don't always answer specific questions. The old wiki listed specific questions by users listed by each section of the book. A hint by Joseph M. Dupre about installing lfs with livecd was very helpful. Personally, I have found the LFS mailing lists less than useful. I guess I'm not expert enough to ask questions. :) Jeff |
