Hello,

I now have to install the kernel-headers for 2.27.4.
But in the needed packages no kernel-headers.
Where can i find the right one.

Assume LFS book 6.4 ...
Have a look in "§ 5.6. Linux-2.6.27.4 API Headers"
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/...x-headers.html
And when finished with "things to do" on that page,
the bottom of the page has a link
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/...-linux-headers
"Details on this package are located in Section 6.7.2,
“Contents of Linux API Headers.” "

I.e. the headers are Linux-2.6.27.4/include/ \
{asm{,-generic},linux,mtd,rdma,sound}/*.h

obviously installed to
/usr/include/{asm{,-generic},linux,mtd,rdma,sound,video}/*.h
when all procedures are followed
.....
.....
Book, chapter, host system should be described,
every time a question is asked > > see § 1.5 + § 1.5.1
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/...skforhelp.html
.....

Hello,

Borh thanks.
But on the site of kernel.org i can only find the changelogs and the kernels themselves. No kernel-header files be found there.

Host system : Slackware 12.2
Book : 6.4
Chapter : 5.6

Roelof

When i use the kernel package then i get this error-message :

lfs:/mnt/lfs/sources/linux-2.6.27.4$ make mproper
scripts/kconfig/conf -s arch/x86/Kconfig

Well, it must be configured first to get the hidden file
.config .
May be go to the chapter, where the kernel is configured ?

The kernel headers are the files inside the kernel source :
linux-2.6.27.4/include/linux/<files.h>
linux-2.6.27.4/include/asm-generic/<files.h> etc. etc.
.....

Hi,

@charlie_lab: I do hope you typed mrproper and not mproper (as shown in post #4).......

No configuring needed, 'only' the header files are installed at this stage.
