/tools/bin/gcc: no such file or directory


Hi,everyone!
The version of the LFS book which I used is 6.5


I have arrived the chapter 6.4. Entering the Chroot Environment
after chroot,then I type gcc,I received this error:
bash: /tools/bin/gcc: No such file or directory

how can I solve this problem?
Any suggestion is appreciated!

Hi,

Which problem? Why should gcc be present at that point?

Just continue the build, after you finish 6.6 (Creating Essential Files and Symlinks), all is set up to start building the LFS System.

Reading the book before you actually start building is a good idea, it will give you an idea about the way things are done.

@Andrew Benton: The OP just started chapter 6 (s/he's at 6.4) but did not reach the point that creates the needed symlinks (done in 6.6). This doesn't have anything to do with compiling errors and the specs patch in chapter 5 (as mentioned in the URL you posted).
