time of compile ? what CPU is used by the author ?

by the way the timings that are using in the LFS book, does anyone know with which processor are related?

What I mean....

It says that glibc needs 46 minutes for compile...well it took me about 10minutes.. with an xp1800 @ 1.53, 512Ram pc2100.

The stats are old and need to be redone soon. Secondly, they are averages of a mix of CPU:

Intel PIII-750, Intel Celeron 533, AMD 750. I haven't added my new box specs (P4 2.2 Ghz). I'm waiting for GCC-3.1 to go in the book, then we'll redo all the build times and the estimated disk space requirements. And yes, the book will then also list what specs the times are based upon.
