Hi

Network install is when it,s installed over a network not what you want.
The way to go about this, You will have to install a linux distro if you need windows then you can install alongside windows ( Dual boot) I dont know of any live cd,s that are compatible to build lfs. Maybe some one can point 1 out?.
You said you have used ubuntu before maybe use it again as host for the build.

ok but I want a basic Distro because it will just make me more free
and debian how to get it can you offer a direct link

it's just a text based install no gui at all saves on space I'm gonna try it myself later when i Get home

If you want to just make something your own you can start with almost any distribution and set it up the way you like. Have you looked at something like Arch Linux? It will install as a command line system and you build it all from there choosing the software you want.

Slackware is a good one to start with as well...

yes you can build both of them onto lfs later when you Get to BLFS
