Thumbs up So far so good!

Yes, indeed. LFS is small and fast. I added to the basic system nano, ncftp, Links, and it is still only 765 mb. All I need is apache, mysql, php and I can have a very good home server running in no time.

correction: after I delete most of the unnecessary sources files and directories in /usr/src , the lfs system now stands at 360MB.

Has LFS been adding lots of extra packages lately?

I've got LFS 3.1 plus,
apache
proftpd
epic
ssh
lynx
wget

and a bunch of other libraries and utilities I added.

They take up ~230 MB
