Smallest Linux LFS

Hi,

I was reading the LFS :
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs

I read this line :
"We installed a system that was just enough to run the Apache web server; total disk space usage was approximately 8 MB. With further stripping, that can be brought down to 5 MB or less. Try that with a regular distribution. "

Where can this be found. Or how can I build this ?

If you install everything that is in the LFS then you won't get 8MB. They install all the development tools that will take up lots more space. So they probably build the LFS and uninstalled, gcc, patch, etc to make the system small.

I don't think its available for download. You have to do everything yourself. Thats what LFS is.

Hi,

There is a LFS hint that deals with making LFS smaller: Small LFS

Hope this helps.

Just a note.
Binaries build with 32bit are often smaller than buiding binaries with 64bit.
