Shutdown while in the middle of compiling

im planning to try LFS.. but my problem is the time.. i only have weekend in performing the installation... can i shutdown my computer eventhough im not finish with the installation and resume again(after a week) with the installation.. i dont want to try LFS in VMWARE,which has a PAUSE capability and resume again after you finish the laundary...

If you remember to (re)set the appropriate environment settings and possibly enter the correct chrooted environment all should be ok. Some of these are mentioned in the LFS book, others are not.

I've done this many times and never had any trouble.
