script in section 5.9

I've tried doing the script in section 5.9, and it's not working. I think it has something to do w/ the single quotes used. I can't tell if it's the quote under the tilde(`) or the apostrophe('). Does someone care to help me? If not, can you tell me where the specs file is so I can edit it myself? Thanks
