Router / Firewall Distro

Sorry if this is a repeat thread, I ran a search and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I am looking for an easy, reliable, and most of all secure Router / Firewall distro. I am a Linux novice, so while I am looking for as much functionality as possible, it also needs to be relatively easy to install, configure, and operate.

I was trying earlier to install IPCop, but came across an issue with it. It boots fine, but can't seem to find the CD when it goes to install. All I can think is it's a problem with the image on the CD itself, but I have tried 3 different copies (2 burned with Fireburner, 1 burned with Nero) But upon closer examination of IPCop, I am not sure it has any Router functionality.

Anyway, I am sure there is a better solution than IPCop, so if anyone could help me out I would really, really appreciate it. I would like to get this server going as soon as possible, since the rest of my network is useless until I have some kind of Router / Firewall. Plus, if I have this extra computer sitting here with two NICs, why should I waste money on a Hardware Router?

Feel free to message me on AIM or ICQ, jeremys1050 or 4614311

Looks good, but I don't have a floppy drive in the system. And I don't see an option for saving configuration to a HD.

i'm sure that devil-linux will let you store your configuration (or anything else) onto hardisk...

=)

you might also wanna look at smoothwall...

and i know you said you don't have a floppy drive, but i've heard coyote linux (awesome floppy-based router distro) can be customized and put on cd easily:
