Problem with CVS build
Hi guys
I seem to be having a problem.
I,ve got as far as installing the kernel headers in Chapter 6, but when I run make mrproper, I get the following eroors.....
I have no name!:/usr/src/linux# make mrproper
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot'
rm -f tools/build
rm -f setup bootsect zImage compressed/vmlinux.out
rm -f bsetup bbootsect bzImage compressed/bvmlinux.out
make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/compressed'
rm -f vmlinux bvmlinux _tmp_*
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/compressed'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot'
find . \( -name '*.[oas]' -o -name core -o -name '.*.flags' \) -type f -print \
| grep -v lxdialog/ | xargs rm -f
/bin/sh: find: command not found
/bin/sh: xargs: command not found
make: *** [clean] Error 127
It would seem like sh cant find any other program, but I dont understand as I have setup my PATH correctly when I chroot.
One thing I would like to point out is that, I have deviated from the book slightly.
Instead of building my static build in /static, I decided to build in /usr/static because this has its own large partition.
I also modified my chroot command to .....
chroot $LFS /usr/static/bin/env -i HOME=/root TERM=$TERM PS1='\u:\w\$ ' PATH=/usr/static/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin /usr/static/bin/bash --login
I cant figure this out
Thx for any help

Its ok guys
For some reason, findutils wouldnt compile properly, no matter what I tried.
Anyway, i,ve now installed Slackware 8.1 and i,m well happy with it.
So its goodbye to the LFS headaches and i,m now officially a slacker, now get me wrong, $LFS is good, but I just dont have the time, patience or knowledge, although I must say i,m glad I did it coz i,ve leant so much.
So this is me signing off from this part of the forum, and i,ll be posting in a min to the Slackware department w00000000t
L8rs guys
